Monument of Burke and Wills

Shows Charles Summers' monument in its original position, in the centre of the intersection of Collins and Russell Streets.  The monument was unveiled in 1865.  As traffic increased, and the decision was made in the 1880s to lay tram lines in Collins Street, the monument began the first of a series of re-locations.
