Pallbearers for Burke's coffin

Carrying the coffins at the funeral of Burke and Wills in Melbourne was a position of honour, and was keenly sought after.  Amongst Burke's pallbearers were Ambrose Kyte, the businessman who had first proposed the expedition, and John King, the only survivor.  This drawing records how the Royal Society worked out who went where.
