Pallbearers for Wills' coffin

Carrying the coffins at the funeral of Burke and Wills in Melbourne was a position of honour, and was keenly sought after.  Amongst Wills' pallbearers was Alfred William Howitt, who had led the relief expedition to bring back these remains.  Wills' father William Wills senior walked at the head of the coffin. This drawing records how the Royal Society worked out who went where.
